Disruption
I Don’t want to disrupt your schedule —
throw off your routine,
or mess up your plans.
Are easily said,
polite,
and well intentioned words.
but the truth is-
I want in every way to disrupt your way of life,
your patterns,
and ways of living in the world prior to me -
like there was a before and now only after-
with me,
how you connected and moved about the earth,
I want to be apart of every part of that now.
How you glide through the grocery isles,
walk through your parks,
seeing the colors in the trees,
feeling the sun on your skin,
that wherever you are I am there too-
now, I am wherever you are.
In your thoughts up in the fresh spring air,
the taste of coffee on your lips first thing in the morning,
the aroma of fresh flowers blooming, raised up towards the sky.
The pillow against your head at night,
the blanket draped over you in the soft glow of the morning,
You have loved before me- and I before you,
but now there is only after having collided-
where neither of us can ever be the same,
we’re wherever the other is, existing within,
in our worlds but pulled together,
rotating around the light of the other,
dancing in the pools of moon light,
under star kissed skies,
glowing in the light of your eyes-
I existed before you and you before me,
but now there is only after-
and I want to disrupt every facet of your life,
every schedule, every pattern, every plan-
because what they were before me -
and I before you-
will never be the same,
there is only now, and after.
