Unconditional

Define unconditional; to be without conditions,

No circumstantial omissions.

Pure, absolute. It is truth.

Stripped of all the superficial glamor.

It’s beyond the awe and wonderment.,

The grit, the grime-

Through the winter blues and summertime.

Unconditional digs deeper than happiness-

It goes further than a smile.

It’s dark, embarrassing, and uncomfortable.

IT is without boundaries,

Nor is it ever on either spectrum of tame.

In its very essence it is absolved of conventional

IT is honest and open; enduring.

Sometimes it’s the ashes of a fire still burning.

Yearning to roar once more,

But the brightness of its flame needs tending

It won’t beg, it will go on even without your interference,

But its glow reciprocates the energy invested within it.

As you keep it fed, it keeps you warm.

Though it is without condition, nothing is without consequence for all we choose to –

or not to do.

Manifesting the strength of the fire and its entropy is unconditional,

though all things burn outward when empty inside.

Like the air in my lungs –

My fire is more than just around me,

Its become the air I breathe.
